❓ FAQ for Scaut Users

Common questions when using the Scaut platform.

What do I need to do after initiating the order?

The process is designed to be subject driven and requires minimal (or no) activity from you. If status changes to "Organization," click "Provide details" to see what's required.

Where do I go for an update on a pending check?

Go to the Dashboard screen for detailed information on each check.

Why do we need the subject's phone number?

We use both email and telephone to communicate with subjects (reminders and updates). Email can land in Spam folders, so we use phone to notify subjects when something is requested.

What information do I need before initiating a check?

To place an order, you need:

  • Full name and date of birth of subject
  • Email and phone contact (if check requires subject participation)

I provided incorrect data when placing an order, what do I do?

Contact Scaut and explain the situation. If you need to re-run something, extra charges may apply (data can't be edited after screening is initiated as many processes start immediately).

What if I want to instantly cancel a check?

You can't cancel directly in the platform as most checks are automatically initiated. Contact verifications@scaut.com to initiate cancellation. Charges may apply if checks have already been processed.

I forgot to add a specific product to the order, can I order it later?

Yes, go to the Subject page, select Add order and choose whichever product you need.

Can I order background checks on multiple people at once?

Yes, simply choose the Bulk order option if you have more than one subject to screen.

I don't know the background of a candidate, so can't choose location of checks - can I still place an order?

Select a package including Residence history. This ensures the candidate will be asked about previous residence locations and assists you to choose relevant products.

I have invited someone for screening, do I need to be involved?

No need for your involvement with the subject (unless they have questions). Scaut takes care of the entire process - you just monitor updates on individual checks as they complete.
