π Where Each Check Is Available: Country Coverage and Flags
Global checks vs country-specific checks
Global checks are not tied to a fixed country list. You can order them for a subject in any country, and what varies is only the practical feasibility for a specific institution or source, not whether the product is available. These include:
- Education Verification
- Employment Verification
- ID & Identity Verification
- Social Media Screening
- Adverse online information check
- PEP check
- Wanted persons check
- Sanctions check
- LinkedIn profile check
- Professional references
- CV check
- Address check
- Sanctions and Watchlists
- Gap check
For these, you will not see a country selector limiting the check, which is why no country list appears under them.
Country-specific checks are enabled per country. Availability is defined country by country, and not every country has every product. The clearest example is the Criminal Check, which is available only where Scaut has an established process. Other country specific checks are:
- Trade license & directorship
- Financial
- Financial & Credit enhanced
- Right to work check
What the country flags mean
Under some checks you will see country flags. These are the indicator of standard availability:
- A visible flag means the check is a standard, ready product for that country. You can select that country and add the check in the normal way.
- A missing flag means the check is not a standard product for that country. It is not part of the automated offering there.
A missing flag does not always mean the check is impossible. In some cases it can still be arranged on a custom basis, but this is not automated, not guaranteed, and must be confirmed individually before you rely on it.
How the order flow confirms availability
The most reliable way to check availability is the order flow itself:
- Start a new order and select the country or countries you need.
- Go to the Checks step.
- The Checks list is filtered automatically to show only what is available for the countries you selected. If a check appears, it is available for that setup. If it does not appear, it is not currently enabled there.
If a check is not available for a country you need
For country-specific checks that show no flag and do not appear in the order flow, contact your Scaut account contact or sales@scaut.com to ask whether it can be arranged. Treat only flagged, selectable countries as standard availability in your internal screening policies.
A note on timelines
Availability is about whether the product can be ordered. It is separate from speed. Even for a globally available check, response times depend on the institution or source involved, so timelines can vary from one country or organisation to the next.
